A Free Guide for National Eye Health Week

    National Eye Health Week

As we get older, our eyesight naturally changes. But good vision is about more than just reading the small print - it's about enjoying hobbies, recognising loved ones, staying safe when you're out and about and keeping your independence for as long as possible.

Our recent YouGov research revealed something striking: over a third of people aged 55 and above are struggling with their eyesight, even with glasses or contact lenses. And, for 40% of them, these changes have affected their independence - whether that means giving up driving, finding reading harder or stepping back from activities they love.

We want to make a change

The good news is that many of these challenges can be reduced or delayed with regular eye tests and timely care. In fact, around half of all sight loss in the UK could be prevented through earlier detection and treatment.

For those aged 60 and over, NHS-funded eye tests are completely free - and that includes home visits for anyone who finds it difficult to get to a high street optician. It's one of the simplest ways to protect your vision and maintain your independence.

At OutsideClinic, we're proud to support National Eye Health Week by raising awareness of just how important regular eye tests are, and by helping more people access the care they deserve.
