Community Audiology and Hearing Support
OutsideClinic, together with NHS Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board would like to inform you of some changes about the local NHS Audiology Service. We will no longer be accepting new referrals for our NHS hearing care service. This change came into effect from 31 January 2025.
Your continued hearing health is our priority, and we want to make sure you have access to the care you need. As you are already receiving an audiology service from OutsideClinic, your journey will continue until you reach the end of your three-year pathway.
When you come to the end of your current pathway or if you need an assessment due to changes in your hearing, or have a newly identified hearing loss concern, there are four other providers that you can be referred to. If you are over the age of 55, no GP referral is necessary, and you can self-refer directly to one of these providers. Patients under 55 will need a referral from their GP, who have already been informed about this change. The local providers commissioned to deliver the service are:
- Audiological Science Limited
- Chesterfield Royal Hospital
- Scrivens
- Specsavers
All four organisations can support domiciliary assessments (in your own home) for housebound patients.
We would like to thank you for allowing us to support your hearing care and thank you for placing your trust in us.
