Looking after your hearing aids

If treated with care you can extend the hearing aid’s life expectancy and enjoy long-term carefree use.​

It is important that your hearing device is properly maintained, one of our hearing specialists will discuss this at the time of your fitting and make sure that everything involved in maintaining the device’s performance is clear to you.

The videos below will show you how to turn the device on & off, replace its battery, change the wax guard and clean your hearing device.

Receiver In Canal (RIC)

Replacing your wax guard
Use the empty end to remove the old guard, twist clockwise as you push.
Turn the tool around and push the new wax guard in.

Replacing your battery
To open the battery door pull the catch, then remove the battery
Peel the sticker off the back of the battery (the sticker is on the positive side).
Ensure the battery is the correct way up with the flat side on top and place into the holder and push closed.

Turning your hearing device off and on
To turn the hearing device off, open the battery drawer.
To turn the hearing device on, push the battery drawer closed.

In The Ear (ITE)

Replacing your wax guard

Turn the tool around and push the new wax guard in.
