Are you a locum optometrist? Are you looking for a bit of variety in your working week? Do you fancy a go at domiciliary work?
We offer great rates dependent on the area. We also offer block bookings if you are after a working holiday.
If you are looking for a change of environment from the high street and want more diversity and freedom in your working day, then this is the locum role for you.
As a locum optometrist, you will be working with a dispensing colleague, travelling around your region visiting roughly seven patients per day. With all routes and appointments booked by our expert scheduling team and full support from our in-house professional services department, you can be sure that you will have everything you need to give your patients the best possible care and experience.
You must be GOC registered and have access to a vehicle.
We have locum opportunities nationwide.
How do you know if a job is right for you before you apply?
Especially if it means leaping into a new branch of optometry that you’ve never considered before. We offer a free no-commitment Taster Experience to see for yourself what 21st Century domiciliary is really like. And when we say ‘experience’ we mean just that.
On the day you will have the opportunity to meet the team, get hands-on with the kit and conduct a home eye test.
Taking place at our head office in Swindon, you will get a chance to meet our fantastic team. From Scheduling to Professional Services, you will gain a much greater understanding of the teams that are here to support our optometrists on the road. You will have the opportunity to learn more about us from none other than the CEO himself, Damian Kenning. Damian will take you through the history of the company as well as some of the fantastic systems in place that ensure we remain at the forefront of clinical care.
“I had no idea domiciliary was so advanced. The equipment is incredible.”
You will have the opportunity to see the fantastic mobile equipment that all our optometrists use. This includes a digital fundus camera, portable slit lamps, I-Care tonometer and our bespoke EYEris tablet (no more paper!). Designed for optometrists by optometrists, the EYEris system has proven itself as an efficient, flexible and brilliant piece of equipment that promotes great quality record keeping, keeps the test patient-focused and gives each optometrist their individuality.
Next, you will visit a patient with one of our Professional Services optometrists. It’s the best way to get a real insight into what it’s like to treat a real patient in their own home, using the home environment to your advantage. You can appreciate the enormous difference you will make to people’s lives, and you will experience their gratitude for your help.
Upon returning it will be time for us to find out more about you- your hopes and goals for your career. There is no commitment on your part, but if you like what you see and think this could be your next career move, then we can provide you with contract options that work for you. Our Taster Experience days last around four hours and can be tailored to you. If there is a specific aspect you would like to know more about then we can incorporate that into your day with us.
